Consultation and pilot experiments

We offer consultation about imaging goals, instrument selection, and sample preparation. Project planning advice prior to sample preparation is free. Describe your project by email to our team at almc@ohsu.edu . A staff member with the most relevant expertise will reach out to discuss your project with you one-on-one: remotely or in person. 

Independently access our instrumentation

We offer two training tiers – project-specific training for safe and effective instrument operation for a specific imaging goal, and expert-level training for a specific technique. The latter includes a deeper dive into the underlying principles, requires more training sessions, and is recommended for frequent users. All sessions are scheduled as one-on-one sessions with a staff member on our instruments. Once deemed proficient, you may schedule independently and take advantage of lower fees. Hire ALMC staff to image for you

Have an upcoming deadline? Need data quickly? We perform data acquisition for you, with or without your presence. For occasional users with intermittent needs, we consider this the most cost-effective approach to achieve consistent results. Assisted use is available Mon-Fri between 9am-5pm.  

Full-service slide scanning

We offer full-service slide scanning on our Zeiss Axiscan7 for thin FFPE and OCT imbedded cryostat sections (brightfield and fluorescence). Click here for more information on how to initiate a request and sample drop-off. 

Image analysis consultation and training

The Advanced Light Microscopy Core offers access to expertise on how to analyze a variety of image data. Get trained to use our commercial 2D, 3D, and 4D visualization and analysis packages that support sophisticated and time-saving workflows for data quantification.
